Debate set to call for Inquiry into 80's Scandal that infected many with Hepatitis and AIDS.

North Wales AM Mark Isherwood is part of a group of Welsh AM's who have tabled a motion to be debated tomorrow which among other things calls for a Public Inquiry into the Contaminated Blood Scandal. In the 1970's and 1980's 4,670 British haemophiliacs were infected with Hepatitis C (almost all Haemophilacs alive at that time), 1,243 were also infected with HIV and were infected by both viruses through using Contaminated Clotting Factor Products.  Over 2,000 British haemophiliacs have died due to their infections and many others are terminally ill.

There has never been a statutory investigation or Damages paid to the victims in England or Wales.
