Apology comes following claims that the Minister & Oxford West and Abingdon MP misled Parliament.

Too little too late?

A letter dated 16th January from Lord O'Shaughnessy to Coventry MP Jim Cunningham states that the Department of Health stands by the Minister's comments on Factor VIII contamination made on November 24th 2016, which have been dismissed by campaigners as misleading at best and perhaps more appropriate, a total lie. Factor News has seen no evidence for the claims that were made by the Minister last year. The letter from the new "Lord in Waiting" omits a number of previous government claims in similar letters and concludes by saying: "I apologise for any confusion arising from the information she provided", indeed it will largely not be welcomed as the proper apology affected victims and bereaved families are still waiting for. However this little saga is viewed it appears the need for a full investigation into the scandal is now of paramount urgency.

Lord James O’Shaughnessy entered the post of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health and a Government Whip (Lord in Waiting) in December 2016 .
